5 Ways for a Groom to Stand Out on His Wedding Day

Typically the bride has all eyes on her on the big day, for good reason! But we think it’s important to remind the fellas that they don’t have to be an oversight. More times than not, the bride will make most of the wedding day decisions from the colors, the flowers, the decorations, the vendors, and so much more. So, how can the groom still stand out without changing their soon-to-be spouse’s vision? Just be different – let us explain.

Do you want to feel like a million bucks without spending it? Savvi Formalwear is the ultimate go-to for suit & tux needs. Not only do they offer an insanely wide variety of options, but they “tailor” to your needs, literally. So if the groom wants to stand out from the rest of the wedding party, Savvi has the best selection to pick from. Here’s a few ideas on how a groom can stand out, but of course, get creative with it!

1. Bow tie vs tie

If the groomsmen are wearing ties the groom can wear a bow tie. It’s a subtle difference but enough to stand out at the ceremony and in photos.

2. Swap out colors and patterns for the bow ties, ties and/or pocket squares

This is a great option if the groom doesn’t want to entirely stand out from the rest of the wedding party. If you’re looking for a slight difference, you can mix-and-match different patterns or even colors. Maybe the groomsmen all have solid colored ties and the groom wears a patterned one. Savvi will give you options to customize your look but still stay on theme.

3. Opt for one-of-a-kind shoes or socks

This is another great option if the groom wants subtle differences. Are all of the groomsmen wearing dark brown shoes? Wear light brown. You can tackle this in so many different ways. If you are planning on having your photographer snag a pic of the groomsmen with their socks on then the groom can wear special socks. Whether the socks have his favorite Star Wars characters or something silly like a custom ordered sock with the bride’s face on them. We definitely encourage you to check out Savvi’s in-store selection before making a final decision.

4. Pick a different undershirt, vest or waistcoat

Again, you have so many options here. You can change up the color and pattern with all of the layers underneath the jacket and still get that “stand-out” effect. These bottom layers will still peak out through your jacket. Change it up from what the groomsmen are wearing!

5. Choose an all out different suit or tux

Have fun with the colors here. Maybe the wedding party is in an emerald green and the groom is in an all-white or cream colored tux. If you’re looking to REALLY stand out, this is the way to go. Again, Savvi is a great go-to for a variety of patterns and designs even if you are wanting to switch the “look” up for the groom.

Believe it or not, but a “stand out” groom makes for some great wedding photos. We love seeing weddings where it’s all eyes on the couple. Be sure to make some empty wall space because you’re definitely going to want to showcase those photos in your home.

Our favorite thing about Savvi is that they’re a one-stop-shop for all grooms, groomsmen. Whatever you choose, everything can be managed through them. Once you’ve made your selections, they will notify you and your party with measurement deadlines to assure your wedding schedule stays on track. It’s so convenient and this is just one more thing that you won’t have to worry about in your wedding planning process.
